Aizawl: Mizoram police seized 788 grams of heroin worth Rs. 23.64 lakh during a random checking of vehicles on the outskirts of Zotlang in east Mizoram’s Champhai district on Sunday, police said in a statement.
The police team intercepted a vehicle during the random checking and recovered the heroin from the possession of two peddlers, including a woman, it said.
The two accused have been identified as Benjamin Lalvumsanga (22) and Zion Lalramchullovi (34) both from Champhai’s Kanan locality, it said.
The seized heroin was concealed in 65 soap cases and carried in a rucksack, it said.
A drug case was registered against the two accused at Champhai police station, the statement added.
