Mizo pugilist NT Lalbiakkima’s dream run at the Kazakhstan President’s Cup international boxing tournament continues as he defeated world number one and Olympic gold medalist Hasanboy Dusmatov in the quarter final on Friday. Lalbiakkima now stormed into semi final of the tournament.
In his last bout on Thursday, this Indian boxer from Siaha in Mizoram knocked down Thailand’s Thaani in just 20 seconds after landing twenty consecutive right-left combinations to his opponent. Though the Thai boxer recovered the umpire’s count, Lalbiakkima won the match in a unanimous decision.
Uzbekistan boxer Hasanboy Dusmatov is the reigning light flyweight world number one . Dusmatov is an Olympic gold medalist in 2016 and the present Asian champion.
