‘Tambourine Man’ of Northeast Lou Majaw, on Monday celebrated the 80th birthday of legendary American singer Bob Dylan.

Lou Majaw celebrated Bob Dylan’s birthday in his own unique style, singing Dylan’s compositions at some of the exotic locations of Shillong.

“We performed at the Golf links and in other places,” said Lou Majaw.

Lou Majaw belted out some soulful songs of Bob Dylan in the green golf course in the Shillong on Monday.

“Bob Dylan’s compositions are very powerful. He has given much to the world through his compositions. If the world leaders give five to ten minutes to Dylan’s songs, I am sure this world, irrespective of religion and colour of the skin would understand peace,” said Lou Majaw, who is known for his simplicity and wit.

Lou Majaw, who is a big fan of Bob Dylan, celebrates Dylan’s birthday every year with enthusiasts and Dylan lovers from other parts of the country.

However, keeping in mind the COVID-19 situation and adhering to the COVID-19 protocols, Lou Majaw  celebrated his role model’s birthday this time mostly by himself amid the pristine nature.

“When your mother sends back all your invitations And your father, to your sister he explains That you’re tired of yourself and all of your creations Won’t you come see me, Queen Jane?” Lou sang one of Dylan’s numbers in the golf course.

“Greetings from Shillong…wishing you a most meaningful birthday as you turn 80…God bless you with health and peace…Khublei,” Majaw said in his birthday message to Bob Dylan.
