President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday arrived in Shillong on a two-day visit to address a convocation at the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU).
Meghalaya governor Tathagata Roy, health and family welfare minister Alexander Laloo Hek other dignitaries received Kovind at the Advanced Landing Ground in Upper Shillong.
He also received a guard of honour from the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Indian Army.
NEHU vice chancellor Prof SK Srivastava said the university is all set to welcome the President.
14,502 students would be awarded degrees and Ph.D degrees, Srivastava said.
