The office of the Jirang Community and Rural Development (J&RD) block in Ri Bhoi district of Meghalaya has been turned into a containment zone. 

The decision to turn the Jirang C&RD block in Ri Bhoi district into a containment zone was taken after some of the staff of the office tested positive for COVID-19. 

“…some staff working at the Jirang C&RD block, Ri Bhoi district have been tested positive for COVID-19,” said Ri Bhoi District Magistrate (DM) RM Kurbah. 

The office of the Jirang C&RD block has been turned into a containment zone for one week from June 21 till June 28.

Meanwhile, the Ri Bhoi DM has urged all who visited the office of Jirang C&RD since June 15 to go for home quarantine for ten days.
