Meghalaya on Monday reported 273 fresh Covid-19 cases.

The virus also claimed five more lives, increasing the total death toll to 913.

The state so far has reported 54,853 positive cases, of which 4,110 are active cases.

A total of 49,830 people have recovered from the infection so far in Meghalaya.

Meanwhile, health officials have asked people not to panic in case they experience some side-effects after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.

Fever, chills, headache, tiredness and swelling or pain at the injection site are some of the common side-effects of the vaccine that subside soon.

In case symptoms persist up to three to four days, one should call 14410 for medical advice, said health officials.
