The Meghalaya Police, reportedly, has arrested two persons in connection with the IED explosion at the police reserve in East Jaintia Hills district on Wednesday. 

The two persons were arrested on Thursday. The arrests came just a day after the banned Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) claimed responsibility for the attack. 

The identities of the arrested persons are yet to be revealed. 

An IED went off at the police reserves camp in East Jaintia Hills district in Meghalaya in the wee hours of Wednesday. 

One police personnel had sustained injury in the explosion.

However, no loss of life was reported in the blast. There has been considerable damage to property. 

The HNLC while claiming responsibility of the attack said that it was “an act of revenge” that it took “for killing and torturing our members in the past by the police”.
