SHILLONG: The Congress in Meghalaya has suspended two of its MLAs for alleged “anti-party” activities.

The suspended Meghalaya Congress MLAs are Gabriel Wahlang and Charles Marngar.

Both the MLAs have been served with suspension letters by the party.

The two Meghalaya Congress MLAs have been suspended for a period of six year.

The suspension letter mentions that both the leaders were suspended following reports from the party’s workers that indicated their association with the ruling NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government.

It may be mentioned here that earlier there were reports that Gabriel Wahlang and Charles Marngar along with Celestine Lyngdoh were mulling to join the ruling NPP.

Notably, Meghalaya Congress president Vincent Palace had also warned of stern action against party MLAs who were planning to leave the party.
