A major reshuffle of bureaucrats has been effected by the Meghalaya government which saw the transfer of some deputy commissioners to other districts besides other officers.

A notification on Wednesday night stated that principal secretary SP Ahammed has been relieved of his functions as the principal secretary to the information and public relations department but he will continue to look after the animal husbandry and veterinary department.

South West Khasi Hills deputy commissioner Isawanda Laloo has been transferred and posted as the new deputy commissioner of East Khasi Hills district while the current deputy commissioner of East Khasi Hills district, M. War Nongbri, has been posted as the secretary to the information and public relations department.

MN Nampui, the secretary to health & family welfare, I&PR, textiles, has been relieved of her functions as the secretary to I&PR and textiles.

FM Dopth, the deputy commissioner of East Jaintia Hills, has been transferred and posted as the secretary to textiles.

C. Kharkongor, the secretary to the social welfare department, has been transferred and posted as the deputy commissioner of South West Khasi Hills.

E. Kharmalki, secretary to the urban affairs department; director, Meghalaya Urban Development Agency, has been transferred and posted as the deputy commissioner of East Jaintia Hills.

SC Sadhu, the deputy commissioner of North Garo Hills, has been transferred and posted as the director of community & rural development.

G. Kharmawphlang, joint secretary to urban affairs & education departments, shall now function as director of urban affairs.

RP Marak, additional CEO, Meghalaya and joint secretary to the election department, has been transferred as the deputy commissioner of North Garo Hills.
