I have journeyed

I have journeyed.

And found so many paths,

All leading to the same destination.

I have journeyed.

And found water,

But I am no longer thirsty.

I have journeyed.

And found happiness,

But also my fear of grief.

I have journeyed.

In search of love,

Like a river, ‘it’ has two banks.

I have journeyed.

In search of wisdom,

But you cannot hurry reason.

I have journeyed.

With a prayer on my parched lips,

To be moistened, by my faith in God.

I have journeyed.

Without a walking stick,

For there maybe no one to pick it up.

I have journeyed.

With only my shadow as a companion

When darkness comes ‘it’ will still be with me.

I have journeyed.

And no longer ashamed,

For now, I lie naked.
