Almost 20% of the deaths due to Covid19 infection in Meghalaya are cases of ‘brought dead’ to the hospital, revealed National Health Mission (NHM) Meghalaya on Saturday.

Sharing the information, the NHM Meghalaya in a tweet on Saturday said due to delay in testing for the virus and availing early treatment, 20% of the infected patients lose their lives on the way to the hospital and they are declared “brought dead”.

The NHM Meghalaya has urged the people to get tested for Covid19 immediately if they have any symptoms.

It has requested the people to call 14410 for help.

“Almost 20% of deaths due to COVID-19 in Meghalaya are brought dead to the hospital due to the delay in testing and early treatment. If you have any symptoms of Covid-19, get tested immediately. Call 14410 for help,” NHM Meghalaya tweeted.

Meghalaya on Saturday reported 8 more Covid19 deaths and 231 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.

With the new cases, Meghalaya’s Covid19 positive tally increased to 73,448 on Saturday.

On Saturday, a total of 460 people, who were earlier infected by Covid19, recovered from the disease on Saturday.

With these, a total of 69,043 people have recovered from the deadly disease in the state so far.

The disease has claimed the lives of a total of 1,269 people in Meghalaya.

Currently, Meghalaya has 3,136 active Covid19 patients.
