The Regional Democratic Alliance (RDA) of Meghalaya will have an all important sitting on Monday to discuss its stand and modalities in supporting UDP candidate Pius Marwein in the upcoming Ranikor by-election on August 23 next.

UDP leader Jemino Mawthoh said that HSPDP is also a partner of the RDA and the meeting will discuss on supporting the UDP candidate in the election.

The central executive committee of the party will meet on Tuesday to formulate strategy on how to go about the by-election.

Mawthoh also that all the UDP ministers, MLAs and party functionaries would aggressively campaign for the UDP candidate in Ranikor.

Mawthoh further claimed that leaders from different political parties are supporting UDP in Ranikor and that there was a lot of enthusiasm in the party.

Mawthoh also informed that the party will go all out to support Conrad Sangma in South Tura by-election.

Polling in Ranikor will take place on August 23 while counting of votes will take place on August 27 and the last date of filing nominations is Monday.

The date of scrutiny of nomination is August 7 while the last date for withdrawal of candidature is August 9.
