Red Horns Division under the aegis of Indian Army’s “Civic Outreach Programme – Op Sadbhavana” organised a medical camp for the inhabitants of the remote and inaccessible riverine islands of the Brahmaputra at Bhangnamari Char in Nalbari on September 2.
The event was organised in consultation with the local gaon burhas and civil administration to provide basic health check up to the locals from the village and adjoining areas and spread awareness on common ailments, lifestyle diseases and sanitation.
The camp received an overwhelming response with 1,753 locals including women, children and elderly persons joining the camp. Essential medicines were distributed to the locals as per prescription.
