A temporary camp of National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) or NSCN (IM) was busted by the Indian Army in Tamenglong district of Manipur.

“A huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered by the army from the temporary camp,” sources informed.

“The operation against the NSCN (IM) was launched by the Army after it received a specific intelligence input about their presence in the area,” sources added.

Sources added that the militants abandoned the hideout after they detected the movement of security forces.

“The NSCN (IM) cadres left the hideout after they discovered the movement of the security personnel. They left behind a huge cache of arms and ammunition,) sources added.

The security personnel recovered one G-3 rifle, one US-made carbine, one country-made carbine, one 9 mm pistol, one point 22 mm pistol, magazines, a large quantity of ammunition, and walkie-talkie sets.

The army, later, handed over the recovered weapons to Tamenglong Police.
