Imphal: Manipur and Nagaland police forces joined hands to dismantle a drug smuggling operation, arresting four individuals, including two women, in coordinated raids conducted over the past 48 hours.

Acting on a request from the Railway Police Station in Dimapur, Nagaland, Manipur police apprehended two alleged drug smugglers, Ramesh Bhandari and Lovejoy KKS, from their hideouts in Ukhrul district, Manipur, on Friday.

Karthik Malladi, Superintendent of Police for Ukhrul, along with other officers, led a team that successfully located and arrested the duo at a Tasar Farm in Ukhrul.

Bhandari and KKS were reportedly on a wanted list in connection with a previous seizure of drugs valued at approximately Rs 1.04 crore in the regional market.

Meanwhile, on March 1, Nagaland police arrested two women, from platform No 1 of the Dimapur Railway Station in Nagaland.

Following legal procedures, the individuals apprehended in Manipur were transferred to the South Police Station in Kohima, Nagaland.
