Monika Ingudam of Manipur recently was awarded the National Youth Icon Award 2019 by the International Youth Committee.
The award was given at the World Youth Summit 2019 held in New Delhi.
Overall 79 young leaders from across the globe were honoured with the National Youth Icon by the International Youth Committee.
Monika is a development professional, currently working at ActionAid India.
She is a trained agriculturist and in the last 4 years, she has worked with over 10,000 farmers across the country for promoting sustainable agriculture and entrepreneurship.
The National Youth Icon Award is the premiere and the highest youth award in India for Excellence in Development Work.
It is aimed at raising the profile of young people and highlight their contribution towards the development of a fairer, sustainable, peaceful, and prosperous future.
