With 250 new COVID -19 positive cases including 58 central armed police force (CAPF) personnel in Manipur, the state tally crossed the 12,000-mark.

With the new cases, the state’s total cases reach 12,105,official sources said.

The COVID19 Common Control Room, Imphal on Monday said 192 persons from the general population and 58 from the CAPF were confirmed as new COVID19 positive cases in the past 24 hours.

The new COVID19 positive cases were confirmed at testing facilities at RIMS (52), JNIMS (122), Ukhrul (2), Thoubal (4), Raj Medicity (9), Shija hospital (8), Churachandpur (1) ,Imphal East (1), Bishnupur (3), Tamenglong(8), Kangpokpi (1), Babina (21), Hillside (2) and Imphal West (14) in the state.

The positive cases from the general population are from Imphal West (56), Ukhrul (2), Thoubal (15), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (21), Tamenglong (8), Churachandpur (17), Imphal East (57), Kangpokpi (3), Senapati (1) and Tengnoupal(8), the release said.

All from the general population are locals without any significant travel history; it said.

In the last 24 hours, one male aged 60yrs from Imphal West expired at JNIMS release added. The cumulative number of deaths is 75.

The State reported its first death due to COVID-19 on July 29 while the first COVID 19 positive case on March 24.

On the other hand altogether 129 persons were discharged from seven COVID care facilities including home isolation in the state, it added.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 12,105 while the numbers of active and recovered cases are 2,696 and 9,334 respectively, it added.

The recovery rate is 77.10 percent.
