Manipur: Suspected UNLF cadre held with arms in Bishnupur

A team of Assam Rifles and the Manipur Police in a joint operation has arrested a suspected cadre of proscribed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) in Bishnupur district.

The suspected UNLF rebel identified as K. Lanjingba was arrested on Thursday with guns and explosives in the operation.

Another suspected cadre managed to flee in the security operations ahead of Republic Day.

A police report said that a .32 pistol with a magazine, an M-20 pistol magazine, ammunition, explosive materials and two detonators were recovered from him.

He was later handed over to the Bishunpur district police. Police have registered a case against the suspected member of the banned outfit.
