Suspected militants ambushed a police team in Manipur’s Noney district.
One commando of the police team has sustained splinter injury in the ambush.
The convoy of the police team was ambushed at near Rengpang village in Noney district of Manipur.
As per initial reports, the police team was part of Manipur DIG (Law & Order) – Themthing Ngasangva’s security team.
The police team came under attack by suspected militants while it was returning back to Imphal after attending a meeting between the DIG and villagers in Rengpang.
However, as per reports, the DIG was not with the convoy of the police team that came under attack.
The incident took place at around 4:30pm on Wednesday.
The injured police commando has been identified as Rifleman Shashi.
