Manipur has reported five more deaths due to Covid19 in the last 24 hours, taking the toll to 207, officials said.

In the last 24 hours, five persons including a female from Imphal West district and four males from Imphal West (2), Imphal East and Thoubal expired at RIMS, Raj Medicity and Shija hospital respectively, said a statement issued by the health department.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, 228 persons from the general population and 26 personnel from the central armed police force were confirmed as new Covid19 positive cases, the statement said.

The new Covid19 cases were confirmed at 26 testing facilities in the state.

The new cases from the general population are from Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Kangpokpi, Bishnupur, Kakching, Churachandpur, Jiribam, Ukhrul, Senapati, Tamenglong, Chandel, Tengnoupal and Kamjong, it added.

Meanwhile, a total of 191 persons were discharged from 13 Covid19 care facilities in the last 24 hours, the statement said.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 21,211 while the numbers of active and recovered cases are 3,115 and 17,889 respectively, it added.

The recovery rate is 84.33%.

Meanwhile, the public has been advised to self-isolate and contact Covid control room or chief medical officers for testing if anyone had contact with positive persons.

At the same time, it also appealed to the public to consult government doctors from home from 10 am to 3 pm daily except Sunday through online teleconsultation by downloading eSanjeevaniOPD app or visiting www.esanjeevaniopd.in.
