The COVID-19 situation in Manipur continues to be grim.  

As many as 14 COVID-19 deaths were recorded in Manipur on Tuesday.  

With 14 more deaths, Manipur’s COVID-19 death toll has risen to 1218.  

Meanwhile, the State has logged 863 new COVID-19 positive cases.  

Among the fresh 863 new cases, 838 are from the general public and 25 from the central paramilitary forces deployed in the State.

Imphal West reported the highest number of cases with 298, followed by Imphal East (125), Thoubal (76), Churachandpur (73), Bishnupur (73), Kangpokpi (9), Kakching (96), Chandel (16), Ukhrul (15), Senapati (9), Tamenglong (16), Tengnoupal (27), Pherzawl (3), Kamjong (1), Noney (15) and Jiribam (16).   

With the detection of the 863 new cases, Manipur’s active cases tally rose to 6231.  

Meanwhile, 592 people also recovered from the deadly virus during the last 24 hours.  

Manipur’s current COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 89.87 per cent.
