A consignment of oxygen concentrators arrives in Imphal from New Delhi Credit - Twitter/@NBirenSingh

Manipur on Tuesday received 50 oxygen concentrators from the Union ministry of health and family welfare.

Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh said in a tweet that these oxygen concentrators will immensely facilitate in the treatment of Covid-19 patients, who may require oxygen.

The concentrators have been donated by the Indian Red Cross Society, New Delhi.

The Manipur government has been setting up Covid Care Centres in different parts of the state to accommodate the rising number of patients testing positive for Covid-19 in the past few days.

A total of 748 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Manipur in the past 24 hours.

The virus has claimed 12 more lives in the state, taking the total death toll to 908.

The total number of positive cases in the state is 56,578.

The Centre also provided equipment for installation of two oxygen plants in two districts of Manipur in May this year.
