Imphal: The Manipur Government announced on Monday that all educational institutions across the state would resume normal classes starting Tuesday (September 17). This decision comes following the improvement law and order situation in the violence-hit state.

Schools and colleges in Manipur had been closed since September 13 following violent demonstrations and protests launched by students in the valley districts on September 12.

Both the Directorate of Education School and the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education issued separate orders directing the reopening of all educational institutions.

Laishram Dolie Devi, Joint Secretary of Higher and Technical Education stated that all government institutions, aided colleges, and private colleges under the department would reopen from Tuesday.

Similarly, L Nandakumar Singh, Director of Education School, announced the resumption of normal classes for all schools in the state, including government, government-aided, private, and central schools.

He directed all zonal education officers to inform concerned parties and take necessary actions.
