Manipur authorities on Thursday issued the lists of activities which are permitted during the seven days strict lockdown which is expected to extend further for another week.

According to an official order issued by the state Home department, the  permitted activities during lockdown include essential services,cargo/goods movement,health related activities, public utilities, agriculture and related activities, fisheries, animal husbandry, finance/social sector, print and electronic media, courier services, private security services, food processing units, bottled water manufacturing and distribution, construction activities, private vehicles for emergency purposes,private vehicles for emergency services including medical and veterinary care,all exempted category of employees attending work place, all offices of Central and State Government dealing with essential services,all treasury offices.

Locally based retails shops dealing with essential commodities like groceries for daily use,vegetables,fruits,milk booths,poultry meat and fish will be opened in all districts from 6 am to 10 am on all days except Sundays,it said. No vehicle will be allowed to move, it added.

The move to impose strict seven days lockdown and curfew across the state has been decided by an emergency cabinet meeting held on Wednesday.

The cabinet meeting which was chaired by the state chief minister N Biren Singh was held following the report of report of detecting infection of COVID-19 amongst a few people who have no history of travel outside the State.
