Manipur CM N Biren Singh on Friday announced stringent action against those involved in the production, adulteration and sale of illicit liquor in the state.
Addressing the media he said, “The government will act strictly against those involved in the production, adulteration, and sale of illicit liquor in the state with immediate effect.”
“Stop adulteration and save human lives,” the CM further said.
The CM briefed the media about the Thoubal police’s successful operation against an illicit liquor manufacturing unit on Wednesday evening.
The operation was led by Thoubal SP S Ibomcha.
“The manufacturing unit was located at Thoubal Athokpam. A huge quantity of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) was also seized by the police,” the CM added.
