Chief Minister N Biren Singh strongly condemned the attack, stating, “The repeated targeting of our people, often under the guise of peace rallies, is a deeply troubling trend. Such acts of provocation will not be tolerated. We will ensure those responsible are held accountable, and action will be taken against officials who failed to provide adequate security despite prior warnings.”

Sources suggest the attack may be linked to Haokip’s participation in a local TV channel discussion, where he expressed several views.
