In one of the biggest haul of drugs in Northeast, security forces in Manipur have seized drugs worth Rs 165 crores.

A joint team of Assam Rifles, Manipur Police and Narcotics Control Bureau seized drugs worth Rs 165 crores during raids at two locations in the Indo-Myanmar border town of Moreh.

6 persons including 2 Myanmar nationals have also been arrested by the forces in connection worth the case.

Moreover, one foreign made pistol along with ammunition was also recovered during the raids.

“It was a well-planned and orchestrated operation based on hard intelligence,” said Assam Rifles

Security agencies in Manipur have been at the forefront in tackling cross-border smuggling of contraband and narcotics through the porous Indo-Myanmar border.
