The Manipur police has arrested three persons in connection with alleged rape and murder of a 21-year-old woman. 

The three persons were arrested by the police at Thoubal district of Manipur. 

The arrested trio have been identified as Chesam Siraj Ur Rehman, Majdura and Musa. 

While Siraj has been identified as the main accused, his sister Musa and Majdura have been charged as accomplice in the case. 

The accused have confessed to committing the crime and legal actions have been initiated, Thoubal SP Jogesh Chandra informed.

Body of a 21-year-old girl, who was reported to be missing since December 22, was found by the banks of Imphal River on Monday. 

The deceased girl hailed from Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai in Thoubal district of Manipur. 

Demanding justice, a group of angry protestors also set on fire the house of an accused on Tuesday.
