The Manipur High Court has directed the State Government not to re-open offices, shops and other business establishments as the COVID-19 situation in Manipur is still precarious.
The Manipur High Court, while passing the directive, slammed the State Government for notifying re-opening of offices, shops and other business establishments.
The Manipur Government, on June 30, via a notification, had ordered re-opening of offices, shops and other business establishments.
The Manipur Government had asked employees, fully vaccinated, of both government and private sectors to go to offices.

The notification also stated that the State Government would prioritise reopening of offices, shops and market places.
The Manipur High Court’s directive comes after it heard a PIL filed by a native of the State – Osbert Khaling.
The PIL challenged the Manipur Government’s June 30 notification.
The PIL argued that even fully vaccinated persons may also get infected with COVID-19 and become spreaders of the virus.
