The total number of COVID19 tests conducted in Manipur crossed one lakh mark on Tuesday, as per the latest update of the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP) on COVID19.

As on Tuesday, the cumulative number of test results for COVID19 received was 1,04,263 while the cumulative number of persons screened at various entry points of the state was 3,28,385, the IDSP report said.

The first COVID19 case in the state was reported on March 24.

With the detection of 88 new COVID19 positive cases on Tuesday, the state’s overall tally reached 3,941 while 2,122 patients have discharged from different Covid care facilities till date.

The cumulative number of active cases is 1774.

The COVID19 death toll in the state rises to 12 after the expiry of a 60-year-old patient who had co-morbid health conditions.

The 88 new cases include 75 from the general population and 13 from the central armed police force (CAPF).

They were confirmed as COVID19 positive cases at VRDLs of RIMS, JNIMS, Babina Diagnostics, and other testing centres, the health department said in a press release on Tuesday.

The positive cases have been reported from different districts of the state.

Stating that 2 patients, out of the general population, are returnees from other states, the rest 73 are locals without any significant travel history, the release said.

The infected patients are being shifted to the Covid care facilities, the health department said.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

In the last 24 hours, 33 persons were discharged from CAPF, JNIMS, and other COVID care centres of the state after they tested negative for COVID19 during the RT-PCR test, it added.
