Assam Rifles troops in a joint operation with Manipur Police apprehended a suspected PREPAK (Pro) cadre in the Imphal West district.
The operation against the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive) cadre was carried with on the basis of intelligence inputs.
The suspected PREPAK (Pro) cadre was apprehended from the Singjamei area of Imphal West district.
The operation was carried out on Saturday.
Confirming the news, Assam Rifles tweeted: “Intelligence based joint operation on 13 Mar by #AssamRifles and Manipur Police led to apprehension of PREPAK (PRO) cadre from Singjamei area of Imphal West district.”
However, PREPAK (Pro) has refuted the claim of Assam Rifles about the arrest.
The outfit said the arrested individual “cannot be active member” of the organization.
A media report quoted the outfit saying in a statement that the individual identified as H Nganba alias Abo of Wangkhei Thangapat Mapal, who has been arrested by security force, is not an active member of the organization.
