The students of Manipur University, who participated at the 33rd Inter-University National Youth Festival, have brought laurel for the university, by winning several medals in the festival.

The 33rd Inter-University National Youth Festival was held Ranchi University in Jharkhand.

The cultural team of the university won many medals and prizes in different categories including 1st position in Western Vocal (solo) and Collage; 2nd position in Folk/tribal Dance, Western Group Song, and Cartooning and 3rd position in Classical Dance and Cultural Procession, during the 5-day National Youth Festival held from February 16 – 20.

The students were on Friday accorded warm reception at the university here. Congratulating the students, Vice-Chancellor Adya Prasad Pandey, said, “It is a moment of pride for the university to welcome and felicitate the winners of the cultural team. Despite limited facilities from the university, my students have brought number of prizes and medals in the Inter-University National Youth Festival.”

Professor Pandey underscored the role of this younger generation and assured to provide any further requirements, if need be, by the university to do better in future.

In his speech, Professor Rajmuhon Singh said, “Manipuri people excel not only in sports and cultural activities but also in academic field.”

Professor Arun Kumar suggested that students should always adopt ‘healthy competition’ as a strategy in daily life is it in the family among the siblings or among the colleagues at schools and colleges.

Professor Kh Tomba Singh congratulated the winning team members and encouraged them to keep the best foot forward in the future endeavors.
