A sum of Rs 4.75 crore has been granted for the construction of a minority hostel at Andro and Rs 4.70 crore for Poiroukhonjin in Andro Assembly Constituency of Manipur as part of ‘Go to Village’ mission.

Manipur Forest and Environment Minister Th Shyamkumar made the announcement at the launching ceremony of the ‘Khungang Chatse – Go to Village’ Mission at the Yambem Lampak Community Hall, Yambem Yairipok, Andro Assembly Constituency, Imphal East on Tuesday.

Addressing the function Minister Shyamkumar said the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh decided to launch to programme with an aim to create awareness regarding various social schemes of the Central/State Government to the citizens residing even at the remotest area of the State.

Advising the residents of the area to take maximum benefit of the programme, he appealed to the representatives of different departments to give maximum awareness regarding the schemes of their respective departments and solve the problems of the people in the easiest way.

Kongbam Inaocha Devi, member of Tulihal Zilla Parishad spoke on various schemes which the residents of the constituency can avail from the different State departments.

Lukhoi Singh, Chairman, Andro Nagar Panchayat spoke regarding the problems faced by the people in availing the Government schemes.

Stating that the common men have apprehensions in applying for the schemes due to cumbersome procedures, he appealed to the respective departments to make the procedure easy and people friendly.

As part of the programme, Agriculture Department distributed seeds to the selected beneficiaries, Education Department distributed textbooks to school dropout children and saplings were planted under the initiative of the Forest Department. All together 19 stalls were opened today namely – Revenue, DIO/NIC, Social Welfare, Health, RD & PR, Power/MSPDCL, IED IV, CAF & PD, Agriculture, Education, Minor Irrigation, CADA, PHED, Commerce and Industry, Veterinary,Forest, Horticulture & Soil Conservation, MOBC, Sericulture and Bank.
