The Khelen Thokchom Trust of Manipur is launching the ‘Khelen Thokchom Trust Media Fellowship Programme, 2018’ commemorating the birth anniversary of the late journalist, Khelen Thokchom.
The Trust is organizing the first ‘Remembering Khelen Thokchom’ observation this year with the launching of the fellowship programme on Saturday next.
A release issued by the Trust on Wednesday stated that the fellowship programme will fully fund reporting assignments for journalists who can demonstrate the potential for insightful reporting on issues that are of concern for the State.
The amount of the fellowship and related terms and conditions will be announced in the upcoming event, the release further stated.
The upcoming ‘Remembering Khelen Thokchom’ observation would be the 58th birth anniversary of Khelen Thokchom who passed away on April 1, 2018, the release informed.
The release further informed that the Khelen Thokchom Trust is constituted in ‘loving memory of our departed brother Khelen, a renowned journalist’ to promote excellence in journalism while adding that ‘it would be our pleasure to welcome those who were close to our departed brother on this special occasion’.
