Itanagar Police on Thursday continued with its special drive against vehicles without registration number plates and those plying with improper or tampered ones in the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh.

During the drive conducted at several places of the capital complex on Thursday, the police booked a total of 50 two wheelers owners and seized 20 two-wheelers for further verification. Appropriate fines were imposed on the rest.

Capital Superintendent of Police, M Harsha Vardhan said that the drive will help in controlling use of stolen vehicles and improve the sense of order on roads.

He added that the seized vehicles are being verified thoroughly as some of the users have not been able to produce satisfactory documents.

The drive will continue in the days to come, the SP said while appealing all to ensure that their vehicles have a valid registration number.
