The border coordination conference between Inspectors Generals of Border Security Force (BSF) and Region Commanders of the Border Guards of Bangladesh (BGB) started on Monday in Agartala through Video Tele Conferencing (VTC). 

The conference that began on Monday will continue till June 10. 

The Bangladesh delegation is being headed by Tanveer Gani Chowdhury – Additional Director General of BGB for South-East Region. 

Other senior officials of the BGB are also taking part in the crucial talks. Apart from the BGB, representatives of Bangladesh’s Foreign Ministry and Home Ministry are also participating in the conference. 

The Indian delegation is being headed by Susanta Kumar Nath – Inspector General of BSF Tripura Frontier.  

He is being accompanied by Hardeep Singh – Inspector General of BSF Meghalaya Frontier, Dinesh Kumar Boora – Inspector General of BSF Mizoram & Cachar Frontier and other senior BSF officers.

During the deliberations various border issues of bilateral interests were discussed at length including trans-border crimes, smuggling of contraband articles and cattle, Indian insurgent groups activities from Bangladesh side, fake Indian currency notes etc.  

Besides, the construction of Single Row Fence (SRF) in Tripura and other pending developmental works were also discussed at length during the conference. 

Both the sides also agreed to amicably resolve all the bilateral issues to achieve the common goal of establishing peace and tranquility along the International Border.
