Incessant rain turns situation grim in Assam’s Bajali

Guwahati: Due to incessant rains over the past few days, many schools and colleges were covered with flood water in Pathsala town.

The students who came to their institutions were returned homes due to the flood water.

The water levels of Pahumara and Kaldia have been rising.

Several roads in Pathsala town are covered with rain water which become a serious problem for the commuters.

The rising waters of river Kaldiya breached the embankment at Helona village which created havoc in the surrounding areas.

A local resident said, “If the rain continues for two days, then the condition will be worse than in previous years.”

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department predicted that heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to continue over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Assam-Meghalaya during the next three days and isolated heavy rainfall thereafter.
