HSLC results Assam HS results to be declared: Pass percentage highest in Science stream

On the first day of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Assam High Madrassa (AHM) Examinations 2018 being conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), at least five candidates have been expelled for using unscrupulous means while appearing in the English paper on Friday.

As per information, three students from MI Higher Secondary School at Besimari in Nagaon district have been expelled from appearing in the examinations as they were caught cheating and using unfair means in the examination hall.

According to the Principal of MI Higher Secondary School, Besimari, Billaluddin Ahmed, three candidates who were appearing in the Class X examinations from the examination centre of the school have been expelled from the examination hall for cheating.

On the other hand, another such case has been reported from North Silpukhuri Higher Secondary School in Morigaon district where two students were expelled for using unfair means in the examination hall while appearing for the English paper.

A total of 3,53,533 candidates are appearing in the examinations being conducted in 852 examination centres across the State.

According to reports, a total of 71 examination centres have been identified as ‘vulnerable’.

Despite close monitoring by the SEBA authorities in every examination centre along with the help of police forces and teaching staff, incidents of cheating and unfair means used by the students are reported every year and a number of candidates are expelled from different examination halls.

CCTV cameras have also been installed in each examination centre across the State.
