Heavy rainfall over North-eastern states is expected during next 4-5 days, Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) said on Friday.

“Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall activity observed over north eastern states with isolated heavy falls over Nagaland and Monsoon Activity was normal over north eastern states during last 24 hours,” says RMC of IMD said in a press release on Friday.

“Heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places on 07th with a significant increase thereafter and heavy to very heavy rainfall during next 4-5 days with isolated extremely heavy falls on September 10 and 11 over Arunachal Pradesh.”

Similarly heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya on Friday and Saturday with a significant increase thereafter and heavy to very heavy rainfall during next 3-4 days with isolated extremely heavy falls on September 10 and 11, it said.

Heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Nagaland on Friday with a significant increase thereafter and heavy to very heavy rainfall during September 8-10 & decrease thereafter.

It also added that heavy rain falls is expected over Manipur during Saturday to Monday and over Mizoram & Tripura on Sunday.

The current Meteorological analysis and numerical model guidance suggests a significant increase in the spatial coverage as well as the intensity of the rainfall activity from day-2 (September 8) onward with widespread rainfall activity during next 4-5 days, the release added.
