The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall across Northeast during the next few days.
The IMD has issued heavy rainfall warning over Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
Assam, Meghalaya and Sikkim are likely to witness the heaviest of rainfall over the next five days.
“Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Assam & Meghalaya during next 5 days,” the IMD said.
The IMD also added that heavy rainfall is expected in “Arunachal Pradesh on 27th & 28th; Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on 30th June & 01st July”.
The IMD informed that heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in the Northeast during the next five days due to the “influence of strong moist southwesterly winds”.
