Sleuths from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence of Mizoram seized 114 pieces of gold worth Rs 5.85 crore from Melthum near Aizawl on Thursday.
The seized gold weighed 18.967 kg.
The gold pieces were concealed in the travel bags of three persons travelling in aMaxi cab which was coming from Vaphai, a village along Indo- Myanmar border.
Meanwhile, the three persons from whose possession the gold pieces were seized have been arrested.
The arrested culprits have been identified as Laliapa and Biakliana, both residents of Myanmar while the third one, R Lalhmingmawia, hails from Aizawl.
