Four suspected cadres of KCP-PWG arrested with arms and ammunition in Manipur.

Imphal: Four alleged cadres of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party — People’s War Group  (KCP-PWG) were arrested along with arms, ammunition, incriminating documents, and a car at an area of the Yaripok Bazaar under the Yairipok police station in Manipur’s Thoubal district on Thursday, reports said.

The arrests and seizures of different items were made in an operation conducted based on a coordinated intelligence input of the Thoubal district police and 33 Assam Rifles at around 7 am on Thursday.

The operation led by Thoubal district police Commando Officer-in-Charge, resulted in the capture of the four active cadres of the outfit who are later identified as Sinam Bijen @Mangang Meetei (38) from Ingourok Awang Leikai, Thoubal, Angom Ingo @Apa Singh (53) from Nongpok Sekmai Ward No. 3, Thoubal, Warepam Jayenta Singh (36) from Khamaran Makha Leikai, Imphal West District and, Oinam Naocha @Max Singh (24) from Modangpok Khunjao Awang Leikai, Imphal West.

The report stated that the cadres were caught red-handed while serving demand letters to the business establishments in and around the Yairipok Bazaar.

From their possessions, five mobile handsets, two 9mm pistols with 15 live rounds, five demand letters, 20 5.56mm ammunition, four 7.62mm ammunitions, and a white A-Star car were recovered.

A case has been registered under relevant sections and seized items were handed over to the concerned police station for further legal actions, the report added.
