India’s leading e-commerce giant Flipkart announced that it will kick off the country’s festive season with its biggest flagship event, The Big Billion Days (TBBD), from September 29 to October 4, 2019.

For the Flipkart Plus consumers, there will be a 4-hour Early Access.

In order to make shopping easier and more accessible for its consumers during the festive season this year, Flipkart has joined hands with Axis and ICICI Banks for designing special offers for the cardholders.

According toreports, the categories will open to consumers as follows:

September 29: Home & Furniture, TVs & Appliances, Fashion, Sports, Beauty, Books, Smart Devices, Toys, Personal Care Appliances, Travel & more.

September 30: Mobiles and Electronic Devices and Accessories.

This year, from metros to Tier IV markets and beyond, the Big Billion Days will be celebrated all across India.

As per reports, Flipkart has scaled up its chain considerable over the last few months, both in first and last mile delivery, largely in under-penetrated parts of India to cater to the needs of consumers and sellers.

The e-commerce giant has more than doubled the number of PIN codes where it offers pick-up capabilities to the sellers.

It has also roped in 30,000 kiranas to its huge network to deal with customers.

During The Big Billion Days, consumers will have access to select wide range of brands and their products from a huge number of brands, artisans and sellers.

The consumers, for the first time, will be able to buy insurance for appliances during the Big Billion Days.

For maximizing the value for consumers, there will be new and exciting offers every single hour by the seller partners, for the entire 144-hour event.

Over the past year, Flipkart has worked closely with brands to share insights and has co-created products tailored to the unique needs of Indian consumers.

Flipkart, which has a huge customer base in Northeast India, has scaled up the selection available under its Private Brands, with 10,000+ products under 200 categories specially designed for consumers.

A report quoted Kalyan Krishnamurthy, CEO, Flipkart Group, as speaking about this year’s Big Billion Days, “Every year, The Big Billion Days mark the beginning of India’s festive season and every year we set out to deliver the best possible experience for our consumers and our lakhs of sellers.”

Krishnamurthy also informed that they have partnered with brands, sellers, artitans, MSMEs for delivering unparalleled selection and user experience for their customers.

He further said, The Big Billion Days is a time to join hands and celebrate without any worry about “budgets and constraints”.

“At Flipkart, we’ve worked hard over the past year to prepare for The Big Billion Days and we look forward to collaborating with the whole ecosystem to deliver the best festive season yet,” added Krishnamurthy.
