A moderate earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale jolted Tamenglong district in Manipur on Sunday.
This was the third earthquake that hit Manipur within 16 hours, a media report quoted officials as saying.
On the same day, a mild earthquake measuring 2.5 on the Richter scale hit West Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh.
This was the second earthquake that hit Arunachal Pradesh within 48 hours.

There has been no report of loss of life or damage to property in the two states, the report quoted the disaster management officials as saying.
As per the data of the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), a moderate earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale took place at 3.55 pm on Sunday in Tamenglong district of Manipur at a depth of 52 km.

On Saturday night at 11.08 pm, an earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale occurred in Tamenglong district at a depth of 28 km.
The tremor was also felt in neighbouring Assam, Tripura and Mizoram.

Another minor quake measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale occurred at 11.39 pm on Saturday night in Tamenglong district at a depth of 30 km.
People in the Northeast are worried over the successive occurrence of earthquakes in the region, which is considered by the seismologists as the sixth most earthquake-prone belt in the world.
