Imphal: A driving test is mandatory before the issue of a permanent Smart Card Driving Licence in Manipur.
In this regard, the Directorate of Transport Department, Government of Manipur has issued a notification signed by Nivedita Lairenlakpam, Director of Transport on Tuesday.
The intending persons/applicants can apply for training at the Institute of Driver’s Training and Research Centre (IDRC), Top Dussara in Imphal East District in respect to four valley districts — Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur and Thoubal on the normal working days.
Besides, there shall also be a mandatory driving test conducted at a suitable place arranged by the respective Department of Transports before the issue of a permanent Driving Licence with immediate effect.
The Department will provide a slot for the driving test to the intending candidates who apply for a Driving licence for all two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers (LMV) and all types of heavy vehicles.
