Two dreaded poachers were nabbed by Sootea police in Biswanath district of Assam on Thursday.

Sootea police managed to nab the poachers when they are trying to sneak into the sixth addition of Kaziranga National Park with the evil intention of rhino poaching.

Arms and ammunition were also seized from the possession of the arrested poachers.

Police managed to nab the two poachers, identified as Sanu Gurung of Balijuri and Maharam Mansuri of Bhalikpung when they were trying to enter the famed national park for rhino poaching in an Alto vehicle.

Police seized one .315 rifle, 10 rounds of ammunition, mobile phones and some incriminating objects from the possession of the nabbed poachers.

Meanwhile, police are conducting extensive grilling of the two arrested poachers.

Police believe, more information on rhino poaching can be extracted during interrogation of the two nabbed poachers.

On the other hand, the two arrested poachers were to be produced before the court after which the Forest Department is expected to take the duo into its custody for two days.
