Assam legislative Assembly Speaker and Jorhat MLA Hitendra Nath Goswami had a close shave on Friday when the vehicle he was traveling in from Jorhat to Guwahati was hit by a mini truck on NH 37 near Dadhara in Golaghat district.
He was traveling with his wife and sister in law. The driver of the mini truck was arrested.
No one was injured in the mishap. Both the vehicles were, however, damaged and Goswami travelled to Guwahati with his family members in another vehicle.
Goswami said that the driver of the DI lost control of the vehicle as it was overloaded and on top of that the roads were bad.
