A huge cache of automatic weapons and other warlike stores was recovered by a joint operation of the 5 JAK RIF of 9 Sector Assam Rifles jointly with Bishnupur Commandos in Bishnupur district.
Based on input from sources, a search operation was launched and weapons were recovered from Pat area of Ishok Makha Leikai, Bishnupur District, PRO Assam Riflwa(South) stated in a press release in Imphal on Sunday.
The recovered arms included two M 16 Rifles, four AK-56 Rifles and one A4 Rifle along with UBGL (under barrel grenade launcher).This recovery is a major success on the part of Assam Rifles to thwart nefarious designs of the UG groups. However the release did not mention the timing of the recovery.
