The controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) will likely be tabled in the Lok Sabha on December 9 and in the Rajya Sabha on December 10 next.
The Union Cabinet has already cleared the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill on Wednesday and the union home minister Amit Shah has announced that it will be passed at any cost, no matter the consequences.
While addressing a meeting of the BJP MPs on Tuesday, defence minister Rajnath Singh said that the necessity of passing CAB is same as the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir.

He also urged the MPs to be present in the House while home minister Amit Shah takes up the issue of CAB in Parliament next week.
He also asked them not to make any excuse for absence on the day while the CAB is passed.
Singh also said that BJP is always trying to work for the welfare of people of the country.

Despite the huge uproar against CAB, the home minister announced that CAB will be passed at any cost.
It may be mentioned that the protests against CAB is still going strong in Assam and a number of people of the State have raised their voices against the controversial bill that proposes to grant Indian citizenship to non-Muslim refugees from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
