Oil India Football Club, Duliajan defeats Border Security Force, Jalandhar by 2-0 in the inaugural match.

Oil India Football Club, Duliajan on Saturday defeated Border Security Force, Jalandhar by 2-0 in the inaugural match of the 65th edition of Bordoloi trophy football touranment group ‘A’ at Chowkidinghee field here.

For Oil India FC, Jayanta Basymatry opened the account in the 6th minute by receiving a pass from the midfield.  Tulya Das of Oil India FC missed a scoring opportunity in the 3rd minute.

Jayanta scored his second goal in 18th minute by converting a kick from the right flank.  Oil India FC dominated both the proceedings.

In the recently held Independence Cup at Nagaon Border Security Force, Jalandhar defeated Oil India FC by 1-0. Oil India FC has taken their revenge by defeating them in the inagural match of Bordoloi trophy.

In the second half, Oil India FC missed some scoring opportunity. Jayanta Basumatry and William Gangte missed scoring opportunity.

Dibrugarh District Sports Association under the aegis of Department of Sports and Youth Welfare, Government of Assam and Guwahati Sports Association organising Bordoloi trophy football matches for the first time in Dibrugarh.

The tournament was inaugurated by state cabinet minister Tapan Gogoi. Dibrugarh MP Rameswar Teli, Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Laya Madduri and other signatories were present at the inaugural match.
